About

I'm a budding scholar with a PhD and MA in Kiswahili, bringing a wealth of experience from teaching Kiswahili at both high school and university levels. I have a research interest in Swahili oral literature and culture that has seen me conduct research amongst the community and published papers out of it. Moreover I have over a decade of experience in translating English to Kiswahili and teaching Kiswahili to foreign learners. In addition to these, I Have supervised to completion MA Kiswahili and MA Literature students' theses with some still under supervision including those of MA Applied linguistics.

Responsibilities

As an Examination Officer in the department, I oversee the coordination and administration of all exam-related activities. My responsibilities include preparing and organizing departmental examination schedules, ensuring compliance with university regulations, managing the collection and distribution of exam materials, and ensuring that assessments are conducted smoothly and fairly. Additionally, I handle any issues that arise during exams, such as candidate inquiries, and work closely with academic staff to ensure accurate grading and timely submission of results to the registrar's office.
